Join us on an exclusive adventure. You will be guided by a professional photographer, and certified local guides with National Geographic collaborations.

We will stay in a splendid lodge in Porto Joffre, immersed in a charming environment full of nature, between comfort and hospitality. 

The photo sessions will take place on a private boat, through which we will explore the waters of these places in search of wildlife.

The Pantanal, the largest wetland on the Planet, a wild kingdom that extends over 150,000 square kilometers through central-western Brazil, Paraguay and Bolivia.

The name “Pantanal” comes from the Portuguese word “pantano”, which means Wetlands and vividly evokes the essence of this pristine and mysterious place. A place where nature reigns supreme, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and where water is the protagonist.

This trip is designed for real enthusiasts. We will have the opportunity to carry out “full-day” activities, without returning to the lodge for lunch, but directly enjoying a boat meal, in the most pristine areas of this extraordinary ecosystem. So, you can spend 10-12 hours a day photographing the jaguar, making the most of every moment of perfect light.

This trip to the Pantanal is the ideal opportunity for photographers and nature and animal enthusiasts.

Not only will it give you breathtaking scenery, but it will also offer you incredible sightings that you never imagined you would experience.

Jaguars, giant otters, Capibaras, beautiful birds like Macaw and several species of King-fishers are just some of the many species that can be  observed these days.

In August, the jaguars in the Pantanal are more easily visible thanks to the dry season, which concentrates them around the few sources of water left along the banks of the rivers. The lowering of water levels exposes prey such as caimans and capybars, facilitating hunting for jaguars and increasing the chances of sighting. During the dry season, jaguars must regularly travel to water sources to drink, making these points ideal for sightings.

1. Boat Photo Activities:Taking photographs from the boat offers unique advantages. The stability of the boat is amazing, with smooth movements that allow the use of the tripod and sharp shots even in variable light conditions. The freedom of movement is wide, offering an ideal platform to follow the subject unhindered and a 360-degree view to explore and capture every corner of the surroundings. The low level poin of view, close to the water, helps for unique perspectives, allowing you to capture reflections, light games and movements on the water, adding magic and dynamism to your photographs.
2. Photo Assistance: We will offer you technical assistance during all photo sessions, exploring perspectives, lights and secrets to capture extraordinary images that tell the unique beauty of nature.
3. Hotel: We will sleep right in Porto Joffre, a few meters from the river. Every day it will be enough for us to look out from the windows of our rooms to admire the Cuiabà river and observe maybe capibara, Cara Cara and other animals already in the garden of the lodge. The property will have all the necessary services, air conditioning, wi-fi, a restaurant with typical cuisine and a friendly and super helpful staff.

DAY 1 – Arrival in São Paulo

Arrival at the GRU airport in São Paulo, Brazil and processing the bureaucratic formalities. Reception by the Tour Leader and transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2 – Transfer to Porto Joffre

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and departure for the domestic flight San Paolo Cuiabà. Arrival in Cuiabà and departure for Porto Joffre.

100 km of road to the city of Pocomè, the gateway to the Pantanal. 150 km of dirt road and 122 bridges along the famous Transpantaneira, will lead us towards Porto Joffre.

Along the way from Poconé to Porto Joffre, we can spot: marsh deer, South American coati, anaconda, giant anteater, toucan, tapirs, armadillos, hyacinth ara, maikong and other species.

Arrival in Porto Joffre in the late afternoon, accommodation in the lodge, relaxation and dinner.

FROM DAY 3 TO DAY 7 – Photo Activities

Breakfast in the lodge and departure by private boat, for 5 full days, about 10 – 12 hours of activity dedicated to the photography of the jaguars and the other animals that inhabit these areas.

To make the most of the weather and photographic situations, when all the boats return to the lodge, we enjoy a picnic-style lunch in the most privileged and wild areas of the Pantanal or on board our boat.

In addition to the jaguar that will be our main target, it will be possible to photograph species such as: giant river otters, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, capybara, giant anteats, anaconds, tapirs, caymans and dozens of different species of birds.

Return to the lodge for 06:00 pm, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 8 – Transfer to Cuiabà

Breakfast in the lodge, last photography sessions in search of the jaguar and departure for Cuiabà.

Arrival, transfer and overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 9 – Return

Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and departure with domestic flight Cuibà – São Paulo and from here we will be ready for our intercontinental flight.

For this itinerary we recommend a telephoto lens from at least 400mm to photograph the main subjects of this tour.

A shorter lens can also be useful, such as a 70-200mmFor wider shots. A monopod or tripod is also recommended to shoot from the boat.

If you want to participate but don’t have the right equipment, don’t worry. We offer the possibility to rent high-quality cameras and lenses, specially chosen for the event.
