/ SAFARI EXPERIENCE – LUXURY TENTED CAMP

Manyeleti is a private reserve located in the province of Mpumalanga, in northeastern South Africa, bordering the famous Kruger National Park. The name Manyeleti means “place of the stars” in the local language, paying tribute to the beauty of the African night sky.

Manyeleti is particularly renowned for offering excellent opportunities for the sighting of the “Big Five” (lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos and leopards), as well as for the presence of other rare and threatened species, such as lycaons and cheetahs.

We will do 14 open jeep guided safaris here, in search of the incredible animals that live in these lands.

Where we will stay: Luxury Safari Tents and Lodge surrounded by nature: We will stay in safari tents that, despite the name, offer every kind of comfort: private bathroom, four-poster bed, electricity and elegant African-style furniture, all to guarantee you the right dose of relaxation and all the necessary comforts. Our four-star lodge will welcome you with a warm atmosphere making you experience the authentic essence of South Africa.

12 Open Jeep Safari: We will explore the private reserve of Manyeleti in search of animals aboard an open jeep and for the private and exclusive use of our group. Here you will have the opportunity to spot over 300 species of birds and more than 150 species of mammals, including the “Big Five”, but also the rare Wild Dogs and Cheeths! 

We will also have the chance to drive off-road to explore off the beaten track and get unique perspectives for our shots. Every day we will leave for two safaris, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with breaks for meals in the lodge and moments of relax. 

Off-Road and Flexible Schedules: One of the advantages of the private reserve is precisely the ability to go “Off-Road”, which allows us to abandon traditional routes and explore every part of the reserve in search of wild animals.  

In addition, by having a private and exclusive Jeep available for our group, we will have total control over the time spent during an sighting, deciding how much time to spend observing and photographing the animals without feeling bound by external restrictions.

Relax and Nature: After our exciting safaris, we can relax by the pool or the lodge restaurant. Our lodge is free of fences, which offers the opportunity to spot wild animals near our tents. We may be faced with surprising scenes, such as an elephant drining or an impala approaching the lodge pool. This experience offers a feeling of total immersion in nature, allowing us to detach ourselves from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and to live unique and authentic moments in close contact with African nature.

DAY 1: Arrival in South Africa and first Safari

After your flight to Johannesburg, you will meet with the group with whom you will share the domestic flight to reach the reserve.

All flight details will be shared during the sign-up phases.

Once landed, a private transfer will accompany you to the lodge, where we will settle in the Safari Tents and we’ll have a quick lunch. In fact, after lunch we will start immediately with the safari activities, immediately living the experience of the Game Drive in an open jeep. The afternoon safari will leave in the early afternoon and will return at night. Then follow a dinner under the stars and then the overnight stay.

DAY 2/7: Full immersion Safari

Every day the alarm will go off before dawn to prepare for the first daily safari. A quick breakfast and ready in the Jeep to start! The safari will continue for about 3/4 hours and it involves a stop in the middle of the morning to stretch your legs and drink a coffee in the middle of the African bush. During the safari we will have the experience of a Expert certified local guide in addition to the presence of a professional wildlife photographer experienced in African wildlife.

The return will be in the middle of the morning and will be followed by a breakfast and rest until lunch. In the free hours, you can rest in your tent, observe the photos taken in the beautiful common area or relax in the swimming pool where, sometimes, elephants also arrive to drink.

In the early afternoon, after a light lunch, we will leave for the second daily safari. Here we will spend all the hours available in search of the splendid African fauna. Here too, at the end of the photographic activities, we will make a stop in the savannah for an aperitif and to enjoy moments of relaxation in an earthly paradise, between unique sounds and smells.

We will then slowly re-enter the lodge, accompanied by the headlights of the jeep and the torch of our guide in search of some night sightings. Finally, once at the lodge, we will enjoy the dinner under the famous starry skies of this area, in the silence of the savannah with our chef’s cuisine.

DAY 8 – Manyeleti/Johannesburg

Wake up before sunrise, quick breakfast and departure for the last safari. On the way back, after the usual full breakfast, a private transfer will take us to Hoedspruit airport, from here domestic flight to Johannesburg.

Greetings with the group and from here you can then take your return flight.

For this itinerary, a telephoto lens of 300mm or longer will undoubtedly be essential to photograph the variety of fauna.

Even a wide-angle lens can be convenient for capturing a few landscape photos.
